First woodwick I had was the Woodwick Vanilla Bean oblong candle. It almost looked like a mini fireplace, I loved it! Problem is - it’s too expensive to replace it.So I settled for the WoodWick Hourglass in Fireside - sure enough, I didn’t settle for less! If you’ve ever just melted and caramelized sugar in a sauce pan - that’s what this particular candle smells like! Just has a touch of sweet, woodsy scent along with it. Love how the lid of the candle doubles as a base to protect your surfaces!When you light it for the first time, the flame will appear offset but just give it a chance to do its job. The flame engulfs the wood wick and immediately starts crackling - just like a fireplace on a small scale! The flame is bright enough to light up a small room for a romantic or soothing environment. Very therapeutic.Like any candle, you have to maintain them. Make sure to carefully read the label on the bottom of the jar before you light it so you know what to do. Please don’t flip it while it’s lit and be careful when blowing it out as the wax on these candles are much less viscous than other candles. I don’t recommend using this candle for longer than 3 1/2 to 4 hours cause the wax liquefies quickly on the second or third use.This candle is totally worth every bit of the $18 I paid for it and I look forward to buying my next one from here! The scent is subtle enough to not be overpowering. However, to me, it smells sweet which isn't my preference for candle fragrances. I get notes of nutmeg or cloves more than a wood fire.

Update: I just bought the larger redwood and it’s not even close to the review I left for fireside . seriously disappointed because I spent so much on it can’t smell it at all and doesn’t even crackle as loud.I am so fussy about candles because I use diffuser oils and those are a lot stronger, so I don’t normally have very good luck with candles. I realized the wood wick crackling sound next to my bed on my nightstand helps me relax and fall asleep easier plus the smell of candle is amazing. It burns well.. It’s really good quality.. it’s a decent size. I got the fireside which is not really that pretty of a color, but I don’t care because it smells amazing.
Overall, I like this candle. It has a long burn time, I want to guess 30+ hours at least. The wood wick sounds great with a nice comfy crackling sound. The scent is sweeter than I expected but still nice. My only issue is that the scent is relatively weak. I can't smell it unless I'm basically right over the candle. I have it lit on my desk about 18 inches away and I can't smell anything.

I love the sound of the candle. I’m not sure how long it’ll last because I just got it, but I’ll definitely update the review on how many days it last… The smell of the candle isn’t potent and it’s like nice soft but still there and I love candles like that – the only issue is I might be having slight allergies towards it Like five or six minutes after I let the candle my nose started to get runny and stuffy and the longer I have the candle on the more stuffy I seem to get which is super sad cause I really like this candle. I’m still gonna use it just probably gonna have the window open a little bit to regulate it or something lol… I would give it five stars but for the runny nose I give it four stars
Purchased this candle on Prime Day. One of my favorite scents is Yankee's Pink Sands. It's great for the summer, but it is a sweet scent. I wanted something very different to change it up. The description for this candle (Fireside) says: bergamot, amber, exotic woods, and musk. Like others who've left reviews, I STRUGGLE to try to describe the smell. It is definitely NOT anything sweet, but it IS a DEEP, warm, luscious, cozy, homey smell. Not sure it SMELLS anything like a fire, but perhaps it's the musk that gives that "feeling". It would be a PERFECT companion to a fireplace going, or to a gas or electric log "fake" fireplace. Since it was burning in the kitchen and I'd been in the family room, the scent wafted to me in a very nice way, but I was unaware of any crackling that may have been going on. I don't care about crackling. To me, the presentation and most importantly, the scent is all important. It burned quite evenly for several hours and the wax is even upon cooling. It doesn't appear as if much was used. I am so impressed and loving this scent, I purchased 2 more at the Prime Day price. When summer ends, it'll be the PERFECT fall/winter candle, however, personally, it's so lovely, it could be used year round. WONDERFUL, elevated, rich, homey scent!
